Accessibility Statement

MCR Services Inc. is committed to making our website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We work to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. This statement explains what we have done so far and what we are still working on.

Measures We Take

Our site is built with semantic HTML, keyboard-navigable menus and forms, sufficient color contrast, descriptive alternative text for meaningful images, a skip link that jumps straight to the main content, and support for reduced-motion preferences.

The Newer WCAG 2.2 Rules

WCAG 2.2 added several rules on top of WCAG 2.1. Here is where this site stands on each one that applies to it:

  • Nothing has to be dragged (2.5.7). Every control on this site works with a single tap, click, or key press. There is no slider, map, or carousel you have to drag.
  • Target size (2.5.8). Buttons, menu items, footer links, and form controls are at least 24 by 24 pixels, and most are much larger. Links written inside a sentence stay the size of the text around them, which this rule allows.
  • Help stays in the same place (3.2.6). The same phone number and the same Contact Us link appear in the header of every page, in the same order, and in the same spot in the mobile menu.
  • No retyping (3.3.7). Our contact form is one short step. You never have to enter the same information twice.
  • No login puzzles (3.3.8). This site has no customer login, so there is no password, no puzzle, and no code to copy out.

What We Are Still Working On

We would rather tell you about a gap than claim it is not there. Two are open right now:

  • Keyboard focus under the top menu bar (2.4.11). The menu bar stays at the top of the screen as you scroll. When you move down the page with the Tab key, the item you are on can end up partly hidden behind it. We are fixing this.
  • Older articles. Some posts in our blog were brought over from our previous website. We are working through their headings, links, and image descriptions.

Ongoing Effort

Accessibility is an ongoing effort. As we add content and features, we review them against accessibility best practices and fix issues we find.
